Dr. Craig Greef began his career at the University of Witwatersrand. He achieved his BDS in 1989, and received the John Lownie Medal in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery for the best undergrad student in theoretical and practical aspects of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery.

He then worked in Department Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery as a research fellow and clinical assistant at Hillbrow Hospital and Johannesburg General Hospital from 1989 to 1991, before he was accepted as a registrar in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery from 1991 to 1996.

Dr. Greef then became a Fellow of the College of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeons, and was awarded the best student in Oral Pathology and General Surgery.
